Convert all Driving Licenses into Smart Cards (eg Credit/Debit Cards)
We should have all DRIVING LICENSES converted into smart plastic cards (such as credit/debit card) which contains all info about the license holder along with instances of road offenses, fines etc. It would streamline the system in a big way and also make the citizens responsible and disciplined!
Every time, a person is caught in a driving offense, the card must be swiped that automatically files a complaint against him in the poliice or with the government instead of a fine..people would follow rules to simply no have a bad background with the government..it can also be attached with tax benefits to people who have no offenses, and tax penalties otherwise..thoughts?

Yes, definitely a good idea. It can be extended by drawing a line beyond certain cumulative points accumulated by the driver making offences, so that if the penalty figure (accumulated penalty points) cross that stipulated number, the driving licence would auomatically get cancelled and the driver would have to give a test to make a new one. People would then have at the back of their minds that they are fast appraoching the limiting figure and hence would be extra careful. I am sure that given the present state of affairs there would be substantial revenue earning also for the Government through this mode, as many would have to re-apply for licences over short periods if time.
